What happened to Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752: from engine failure, to missile attack
Ukraine International Airlines plane crashed shortly after takeoff in Iran during the early morning hours of January 8, 2019. All 176 onboard the Boeing 737 were killed. While initial version on the accident causes revolved around possible engine failure, suspicion of a possible missile attack grew stronger thorough the week.
On January 11, 2020, Iran military admitted firing a missile, which downed the Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752. The military said the missile was fired due to human mistake. Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani has also confirmed the news via social media, calling it “disastrous” and “unforgivable” mistake.
