Boeing presents 777X’s first “milestone” taxi test

After its official unveiling this spring, Boeing’s first 777X flight test aircraft has now made its runway debut. In a YouTube video, published by the U.S. manufacturer on June 24, 2019, the 777X can be seen rolling down the runway for its first-ever taxi test.
Usually, observation planes approaching a foreign airspace experience a strong reaction, often in the form of an interception and an official complaint from the diplomatic sphere. This month, however, several flights of this kind should take place without a hitch, thanks to the “Open Skies” treaty.
U.S. top carrier, American Airlines, is bidding farewell to its last 26 McDonnell Douglas MD-80s. The company announced on June 24, 2019, it will retire the aircraft by September 4, 2019, and has published a schedule of the final MD-80 revenue flights.
